I’ve been working on building a solid wood countertop my Ikea Kallax Workbench project. To stay within my budget, I decided to use 2x4s. More details will be explained later in that project, but the TL;DR is that after resawing and planing many of the pieces that were originally straight started to warp.
Conveniently, one my favourite woodworkers on YouTube published a video explaining case hardening. Unfortunately this happened to him with some expensive lumber, but the silver lining is that it’s a great learning opportunity, and that seems to come across in the video. Thanks for sharing Jay!
